I lost my virginity 2 nights ago. My boyfriend (who I'm with for 11 months) had a condom on... but... what percentage is a condom really safe? He didn't ejaculate inside me though since some people were near us.. so we skidded away, but my first time (even though it didn't end) wasn't bad. It was romantic..the best night I had in my entire life.
The next day, he came to my house... we were too into the moment... so we had unprotected sex since he didn't have a condom. But... he only was inside me for like a minute and he didn't ejaculate... but I still was concerned... my boyfriend told me to talk to my parents... and I did. Took me a lot of courage to confess.
I took a birth control pill last night and I took a morning after pill tonight...and I'm going to take one 12 hours later... am I at risk of pregnancy? My mom told me that she won't buy me pills ever again since they're mad at me for having my virginity "taken away" when I'm still 15 years old right now.. so I need advice.
How can I have safer sex without birth control or "morning/day after" pills? I carry a condom now just in case my boyfriend wants to do it again... but what other ways can I have safer sex? Please reply soon.
Emergency contraception ("morning after" pills) are very effective if taken within a few days of having unprotected intercourse, so if you took it as prescribed/indicated, you're probably fine. However, unless you and your boyfriend have already been tested, you are still at risk for STDs, so both of you should really go get a full set of tests done.
You don't say where you are, but in most places, contraception and STD testing IS available to minors, and many clinics provide both on a sliding scale basis, often costing no more than a CD or two would cost you. Some places will even provide both for free. If you want to let us know where you live, we'd be glad to try to find the nearest Planned Parenthood or other health resource for you.
As for what sorts of contraception are available? There are a lot, but most do require having access to health care. Which, really, is something you need to have available to you if you're going to be sexually active. Condoms are excellent, but they do break or slip off sometimes, which is why we always recommend using them with a backup method of contraception as well.
I took a morning/day after pill called "plan B". My mom said that I have a 90% pervention of pregnancy if I took the pill and another one 12 hours later. I did that. So... I must be okay then, right?
As you've just noted, it's not 100%, but yes, you have a pretty good chance of not becoming pregnant.
(Just be sure you and your boyfriend both also deal with the STD and STI risks you've had due to the unprotected incident, too.)
In terms of possible pregnancy, if your period is late next time, just be sure and take a pregnancy test then. _________________ I'd stop eating chocolate but I'm no quitter
